Restores wrinkled, blemished, unevenly pigmented, or sun-damaged facial skin, using a chemical solution to peel away skin's top layers.
Prior to your procedure, your dermatologist will evaluate your case and together with you, select the most appropriate solution for your treatment.
The solution is applied to the entire face or just to certain regions, such as the crow's feet area around the eyes or the vertical wrinkles around the mouth. It will be applied using a sponge, a cotton pad or sometimes, for smaller areas, a cotton swab or brush.
The dermatologist observes changes in the appearance of the skin and removes the solution when required.
Works best on fair, thin skinned areas with superficial wrinkles.
All medical treatment carries risk, and you should be fully aware of the medical risks associated with this procedure before you consent to your treatment. You will be required to sign a consent form before treatment stating that you have been informed of the risks involved; that you understand those risks; and that you accept those risks. This is standard hospital protocol and treatment will not be performed if you do not sign.
